Getting the Finger (part 4 of 4)

Attempt #4 - Seriously? Snow? In Tucson?

There isn't much to say about my fourth attempt to reach the Finger, except that hiking becomes extremely challenging in waist deep snow, especially when you are not at all prepared for it.  Needless to say, we didn't reach the Finger on that attempt either.
We didn't get very far

Conclusion - "There's got to be a better way"

After trying and failing to reach a local landmark several times, it occurred to me that perhaps there was a need for someone to provide better directions to interesting places.  Trying to turn text only directions into actionable information on the trail can prove quite difficult.  I believe there is value in being able to see a trail, through interactive maps, photos, waypoints and other rich media, before you hike it for the first time, so that you can hit the trail with confidence.  After all, it's important not only to know where you're going, but also that you'll be able to get back safely.

I don't ever want anyone to have the same experience I had getting lost out in the wilderness.  To the contrary, there is a whole world of amazing wilderness attractions out there and I want to help as many people as possible find them and visit them so that hopefully we will all become better stewards of this amazing planet that we live on.  That's the goal anyways, stay tuned to see if it can be achieved...
