When you're out in the wilderness on a hike, having a paper map of the area with you is essential.
As "Douglas", our Navy SEAL contributor already pointed out in his post about using a compass, the reality is that technology can and likely will fail at some point. You don't want to find yourself in a situation where you're relying on your phone's GPS to get you back to the trailhead several miles away and you see that you only have 7% battery life left.
Until recently, if you had tried to print out a hike profile from Trailvoyant, it would have looked pretty ugly. That's because all of the elements were designed for a digital screen, not a piece of paper.
Although we believe the Trailvoyant is the best resource available for reliable hiking data, we recognize that it won't do you any good if you can only ever look at it on your computer at home.
As a result, we're happy to announce that Trailvoyant hike profiles now feature a "Print" button that will generate a special version of the profile that has been designed for your printer.
All you need to do is click the button, and use your browser's print function (usually CTRL/CMD+P) to get a physical copy.
Now once you've found or built your next hike, you can print out a copy of the profile so that you can take the most reliable data with you, including:
- Large map of the area and the intended trail
- Elevation profile
- Important details about the hike
- Thorough text description of what you can expect
- Step-by-Step directions for how to stay on course
Best of all, this profile will never run out of battery life. :)
We want to hear from you!
Even though we see this as a big upgrade, there are several ways that we want to make it even better. We're not just doing this all for us though; we want to hear what you think.
How can we make the printer version better? What would you like us to upgrade next? Please use our contact form to submit your thoughts and let us know what you think of this improvement in the comments.
Great post full of useful tips! My site is fairly new and I am also having a hard time getting my readers to leave comments. Analytics shows they are coming to the site but I have a feeling "nobody wants to be first"jogos friv gratis 2019
